The Hype:

You show a small wallet with a prediction, which you place face down on the table. You also show a packet of cards with blue backs, telling the spectator that they are the four Kings.

Ask them to name either the red or the black Kings.

Imagine that they select the black Kings. You say that you had predicted in advance that they would select the black Kings and proceed to fan the packet of cards to show that the two black Kings are FACE UP.

The spectator is then asked to name any one of the black Kings.

The King of Clubs is selected and when it is turned over, it has a GREEN back, different from the rest. However, when your prediction is turned over, it has the word GREEN written on it. You then show the other black King to have a YELLOW back.

For the finale, the spectator is probably wondering about the red Kings. Well, when you turn those over, they have the words DIFFERENT COLORS written on them.

My Take:

Something that Vinny does that I wholly approve of is that he gives both an instruction booklet and an online tutorial (which cannot be downloaded.) The cards are colorful and printed on Bicycle stock. The handling could not be easier. Vinny has combined both elements of card display with gaffed cards.

The trick is rated for beginner and this is a good area for it to be in. Zero moves. The cards do most of the heavy lifting. If you are just getting started out and would like to add some packet effects, this would be a good choice. However, it would probably not appeal to a more serious card mechanic. It is however, a fun trick to perform and it actually has a four part climax.

Vinny has been coming up with some interesting effects lately and seems to be a pretty creative guy. Most of his effects are slanted towards the beginner and I must admit, when I started out, we didn't have tricks of this quality. Specially printed cards (usually on Aviator backs) looked exactly like that. Specially printed cards. Technology has come a long way and Vinny's gaffs pass with flying colors.

If you are new to the art or just want something you can perform right out of the box, this would be a good choice. It won't make your reputation but you will have fun doing it.

I do have to remain neutral on this but I know it will find a lot of fans in the community.,
