David has taken the Duel Match premise to incredible new heights with a complete change of method.

By rolling two dice, your spectator generates a random number. You cleanly count to this number from either end of a rainbow deck and remove their chosen back design.

The deck is now completely spread to show that there really is only one card with this unique back design. The dice are rolled again and once again the cards are counted from either end of the deck to arrive at a random value. The deck is completely spread to show absolutely no duplicates are in play.

In essence, your spectator has created a random playing card from these two free selections. You now ask him to open an envelope that has been sitting in view from the very beginning -- inside is a perfect duplicate of the card that has been created.

Your package comes complete with a very special custom deck, two beautiful dice and full video tutorial. Fortuity is so easy to do; even a beginner could do it with only a few minutes of practice.

My Take:

When my buddies and I get together to discuss magic, sometimes the subject of a video comes up. This was how it was for the trailer for Fortuity. Afterwards we discussed it and no one had a clue as to how it was done. The most common solution involved a Gemini Twins procedure. I am very happy to admit we were not even close.

I have had the privilege to review another of David's products a while back, Cutting Edge, which I really liked. Then I had the opportunity to meet and visit with David at the 2019 Magifest. Very personable and, as his work demonstrates, a very clever thinker.

You get a heavily gaffed deck, a pair of dice, and a video download of 41 minutes done by Alakazam. David does pop in at the end to cover a few things. You are also given two shorter videos for download that cover different items such as problems you might have in handling. I think this is a very unusual occurrence. My deck handled exactly as advertised.

I would like to answer some questions I know you might have regarding the deck. As is normal with this type of effect the deck cannot be used for any other trick, the deck cannot be examined and you wouldn't be able to do a repeat as the outcome is always the same. These are definitely not deal breakers for me and the effect is so strong that this is no problem.

The price seemed a little high to me for a single deck until I opened the package and watched the video. David has put a lot of time, effort and work into each of these decks. I certainly would not want to do it. It's obvious that each deck has been gaffed by hand and the fact that each deck consists of so many different backs must have increased his cost to produce each Fortuity exponentially. Considering all this, I feel this is a fair price. The cards are not Bicycle but this is a good thing. Most casino cards are not USPCC so there is no chance you might grab the wrong card pack during a performance. The variety of cards here is a treat for the eyes. It makes your climax that much more impressive.

Fortuity is not a self working effect but still is very easy to do. Like anything else though, sufficient practice allows a smoother presentation and also gets you much more familiar with the mechanics of the deck.

David has proved himself quite inventive in the past but I think that he may have reached a new pinnacle with Fortuity. Watch the trailer and see if it fools you. I would almost guarantee that it will.

So, in conclusion, David has provided us with a powerful, killer routine that is easy to do, very eye catching and will totally fry anyone you might perform it for. David has got a winner here and, if you haven't guessed it already, it comes highly recommended. As Daryl would have said, it's a real Fooler Dooler.
