Super Mega Card Miracles - Cameron Francis The Hype: A mega collection of closeup card magic miracles from actor / magician / international-man-of-mystery Cameron Francis. Super Mega Card Miracles is the definitive collection from this renowned Floridian pasteboard tamer. It features Cameron’s absolute favourite Top 10 (except there’s 12) routines from nearly two decades of creating. These are the tricks he has honed, sharpened and refined and now calls his party pack. These are his audience slayers… his own personal ratpack… the crew he calls on to take down anyone/everyone. Blockbuster routines, ingenious (and easy) handlings… this is distilled Cameron Francis. Commercial, engaging, FUN magic. Card tricks you WILL PERFORM!!! My Take: I first became aware of Cameron Francis a few years ago when I got his Annihilation deck and realized just what a clever thinker he was. Since the deck could be made from any deck you might have, I realized that it could also be slanted towards a business for a trade show or a special occasion such as a wedding. Years later and I still carry one with me. Plus, this is still available and is a must have. (Although as a download you don't get the deck mentioned in the ad,) https://bigblindmedia.com/products/the-annihilation-deck-download-cameron-francis When I started up Cameron's new disk, the first thing I noticed was that the nerdy volunteer looked an awful lot like Cameron. So either Big Blind has really ramped up its video skills or Cameron has an identical twin we didn't know about. Once you get past the surprise of Cameron doing tricks for himself, you will be amazed (as I was) at the video quality. Whether it was done with a computer, back projection or green screen, the work seems to be flawless. And even Cameron's overacting as the spectator (done, I'm sure, for the comedy effect) is enjoyable. Unlike some of his other recent releases, Super Mega Card Miracles is not a compendium of self working effects. But neither are they knucklebusters. If you can handle an Elmsley and a Jordan you can do most of these tricks. For your money, you are getting eleven powerful, visual effects that you will be able to do. These are not new effects but they have but they have been honed to a fine edge with Cameron's touch. He describes them as his core group of tricks that he has been refining for the past couple of years. He feels that this is actually a best of Cameron compilation. These are very visual tricks that your audience will remember the next day. I personally would only do one or two at a show so you don't water down the strength of them. Here are some of the effects that caught my eye. Redoner is his reworking of Paul Harris's Color Stunner, a very nice Triumph routine where the deck changes color. He has done away with a move that he felt was less than ideal so the trick does flow smoother. Collins Thing - Obviously this is his take on Collins Aces. This starts suspiciously like your regular assembly but instead of gathering in one pile, the kings all vanish. They are then found in the deck using four different methods. A lot of magic happening here. Switch Jack II - Two cards are chosen and the four jacks shown. Two are placed beneath the card box and the other two find the first card. When they try to find the second card, the other two jacks appear instead. The second chosen card is found under the box. Precursor/Thanks to Walton - Four black cards are placed down in a row and four red cards are shown. One by one the black cards are replaced by the reds, yet the reds keep returning to the red pile. The kicker at the end has all the black cards turning into Aces. This continues with a second packet trick using the same cards. Aces vanish and return. I especially like the second phase of the second effect which is an elevator move. There are no difficult moves in this and it is probably my favorite on the disk. Mercury Card Load - If you don't presently do the Mercury Card Fold, this ambitious card routine will make it worth your while to learn. But Not Least - If you like sandwich routines, you will like this ramped up version. The same two cards catch three selections one at a time. Captivating - Cameron finishes off the set with a King twisting routine but instead of just turning over, the kinds change to aces. The cards are stacked and spread and the aces have collected the kings. A nice combo of two plots. I believe this to be one of Cameron's better DVD's. If you own nothing by him, this is an excellent place to start. The magic is extremely visual and most of the effects are very easy to do. A couple will require more practice but they should still be within the capability of someone at an intermediate level. I, personally, plan on spending a few hours learning a few of these effects and I am sure it will be time well spent. Recommended.
