My Take:

I like to watch the demo videos of a new trick and do some thinking before I delve into the explanation. Watching this, I am thinking "Hey, I've seen this trick before." I went into my Bannon collection and sure enough, it was performed as "32nd-Sense" on Volume 3 of his "Move Zero" set of dvd's. (BTW. This is an excellent set of dvd's, actually my favorite, that belongs in your collection. It too is available from Big Blind Media).Watching that video, I see that this is basically the same routine and the video also told me that it had been published in his book, "Destination Zero." It uses a procedure called Automatic Placement which dates back to the Ed Marlo pamphlet "Faro Notes" from 1958. I have seen other single tricks released from a dvd or dvd set and this is actually a good thing. You get to learn a great trick you might not have seen otherwise for a reasonable cost.

Then I watched the explanation and John 'fessed up on the previous airings of this routine. He had some parts of the routine that he felt were less than ideal so he spruced them up and released this version plus (and this is a great bonus) it can now be done virtually to anywhere in the world and you don't even have to touch the deck. If you have worked with Automatic Placement before, you know how devastating the reveal can be.

And after you learn it, there is a second video teaching a second routine. It uses the same principle but the number selected by your spectator is chosen using a matrix force. I have been using this force for years and have always love it. Using it for this routine really makes it strong. And John does give you the force to copy.

I am a huge John Bannon fan and am never disappointed. I wasn't this time either. I like that someone can take an old principle and make it seem brand new.

This method is so much fun, you will sit and try it many times before you even show it to an audience. The fact that it can be done virtually now puts a whole new spin on it. This is highly recommended.
