The Hype:

Stephen Tucker's 'Omega' has long been hailed as one of the greatest packet tricks ever created. Simple to do, fully examinable and devastatingly impressive, it will knock your spectators for six!

"Superb. The most baffling and incredible packet trick I've seen in years!" Jerry Sadowitz

So what is Alpha2Omega?

You have two sets of four of a kind (let's say, two sets of Aces). One set is tabled. One set is placed behind your back. You have ANY Ace named. Seconds later, this ace is face down, in the set behind your back, and... it has a different coloured back to the other three! You now rub their freely named Ace on your sleeve and its face completely vanishes!

THESE FOUR CARDS ARE NOW EXAMINABLE!

BUT THAT'S NOT ALL. Now, you spread the tabled set of face down Aces (that have been in full view throughout) and their named Ace is face up!

BUT THAT'S NOT ALL. now someone removes the face up Ace and it has a different coloured back to the other three!

BUT THAT'S NOT ALL. the shell-shocked spectator flips over the three remaining face down Aces only to discover that they are all BLANK! THEIR NAMED CARD WAS THE ONLY ONE THEY COULD HAVE CHOSEN!

Now for the amazing bit - they can name ANY Ace! (It can be different every time you perform).

There are no false counts - The handling looks the same every time!

There are no specially printed cards! (No need to 'ever' buy an expensive replacement set!)

100% self-working? Not quite, but Omega is incredibly easy to perform!

Stephen Tucker teaches you all the inside workings of this fabulous routine!

My Take:

Years ago, I saw Eugene Burger do a lecture in Boston. Great night as Herb Zarrow was also in attendance. During his lecture, Eugene told us that he never leaves home without B'Wave in his pocket. His favorite trick. A killer routine from Phil Goldstein (who always did his magic to the Max. Sorry, couldn't help myself).

The only downside to B'Wave is that the cards cannot be examined as they are specially printed. Stephen Tucker's routine does not have that limitation. The cards can be handed out immediately and examined thoroughly. There is nothing to find.

This is nice visual magic with a strong kicker. If you like to carry something in your pocket, this is perfect. Self Contained, nothing else needed and it comes in a little plastic wallet keeping the cards clean and unbent.

Although not moveless, the move is fairly easy to accomplish and doing it from a small packet makes it so much easier to do. Plus, it is done behind your back completely hiding the dirty work. As they said, there are no false counts so you can concentrate on presentation.

And if you are out on the town and someone wants to see a trick, you break out your deck (you do always travel with a deck in your pocket, don't you?) Liam Montier presents his version of the Hofzinser Ace Problem which, oddly enough, was attributed to Hofzinser incorrectly by Dai Vernon. The actual creator was Jack Avis in 1958.

Liam shows his usual skill and creativity in this routine. It is included as a bonus but you might find yourself favoring this one over Alpha2Omega. As in all Blind Media instruction, it is clearly shot and explained. The only downside for me is the sound quality on the teaching done by Stephen Tucker. While the Liam part is perfect, Stephen's recording is a little muddy and difficult to understand but with a little effort, you can get all the information that you need.

All in all, this is a nice new packet trick. I have always been a fan of packet tricks since way back when and love to see new creations. If you love the genre also, this would be a good buy for you.
