My Take:

Who among us has not owned a magic coloring book in their life. When you perform it at a gig or a party there is always someone saying either "I know how that's done" or "I got one of those for my birthday" The blow book is iconic but also so well known a lot of you have stopped using it. It has actually been around for hundreds of years dating back to the 16th century. It is even mentioned both by Reginald Scot in his Discoverie of Witchcraft and Hocus Pocus Junior.

So, when Murphy's came out with this, I had to wonder what is different.

First of all, the cover and page stock are heavier than the standard book which, to me, means that it will last a lot longer than the one you have now.

Second, all of the illustrations pertain to magic. I have seen a lot of variations on the book such as a Bible theme and the most unusual is after the blank pages are shown, the flip brings up blank music staff paper and the last one fills in the actual music. A quick look on the net will show the Avengers and Spiderman versions.

What makes this really different is the extra change. Besides the three standard displays is one that is designed to look like a child did the coloring and was unable to stay within the lines. Very cute and appealing. I took it to a party the other night and when I got it out of course someone said he knew that one. I did the extra change and left him flabbergasted.

Instruction is via a 10 minute video that you won't really need except for the handling of the Deluxe 4 Way book. There is one difference in the handling which you can learn in less than a minutes.

I read what Murphy's has priced these at and thought it was a typo. I have seen the standard coloring book on line for up to $10.00 (and it is not even made nearly as nice). So Murphy's standard 3-way at $5.00 and deluxe 4-way at $7.00 are real bargains. if you already have a 3 way I would suggest buying this one also, both for the extra quality and the magic theme of the drawings. You get cups and balls, rabbit in the hat, Aces and more.

Kudos to Murphy's for creating both books. They will make a wonderful birthday present for any young aspiring magician.
