My Take:

Years ago, watching one of the World's Greatest Magic TV shows, one of the magicians sat on the edge of the stage, took out two rubber bands and proceeded to link them together. I was dumb struck and that weekend, I went to Hank Lee's and bought the manuscript, which turned out to be. Michael Ammar's Crazy Man's Handcuffs. You can find it pretty much everywhere on line now for free but I felt it was worth every penny of the $10.00 that the manuscript cost me.

I also bought a VHS of band Shark by Dan Harlan and I have watched as Joe Rindfleisch has become a household name in the field of rubber band magic. Now incredible links are coming out all the time and they all have one thing in common for me. I can't do them! The instruction might not be clear, the angles less than revealing, shadows blocking the view of ever poor teaching. So when I got a copy of Ben Salinas' video, I expected business as usual. What I got was a surprise.

First of all, look at the list of tricks you get for about thirteen bucks. The angles re sharp and Ben's teaching is great. IF there is something he things might give you trouble, he will take the time to show just how to do it, step by step. Plus, he is pleasant and likable. I have had too many video where the performer talked down to you or just let you know how superior he is to you. Ben comes across as someone you would like to sit down and have a beer with.

The material (besides being extensive) is excellent. You see some of the old shaggy dog tricks like making a rubberband jump from two fingers to two other fingers. (I remember learning that as a kid from either Roy on the Mickey Mouse Club or Buffalo Bob on the Howdy Doody Show (oops, showing my age here.) The salient point being that the trick was entertaining and could be taught quickly to a small child who has a ball with it. It goes form that to some more complex links but Ben is there to hold your hand the entire way.

If you are new to rubberband magic,or even just want to increase your repertoire, I haven't seen another video on the subject that gives you so much for so little. A lot of bang for cheap. Recommended.
