The Hype:

NITRATE is a totally self-contained packet trick... just pop the four provided Bicycle Cards in your pocket and you're set! No deck required. Easy to do, but truly mindblowing! Nothing is added or taken away. No sticky stuff. No difficult moves.

NITRATE:
You remove four face down playing cards from your pocket, and tell your crowd to imagine they are the Kings!

One of the King's is mentally selected and, incredibly, when the packet is turned face up it is the shown that this is the only King you have!! The other three cards are blank!

So far, so good - but now you offer to take this to another level. With just a click of your fingers the chosen King TURNS BLANK... and the three cards that were previously blank have now become the other three kings!!

Powerful, visual magic that is super easy to perform.

Comes with four special Bicycle Cards included!

My Take:

Years ago, I attended a Eugene Burger lecture in Boston at Ray Goulet’s Magic Art Studio. A great day. Even Herb Zarrow was in the audience. During the lecture, Eugene said that the one trick he always carried with him was Max Maven’s B’Wave. The reason being that it is a powerful effect, easy to do and it fits nicely in your pocket. I am sure a few copies were sold that day.

Now, Cameron Francis has gone Max one better. The chosen card does not have a different color back but its face vanishes and the three blank cards become printed!

I first became aware of Cameron a few years ago when I got his Annihilation Deck. I still carry this with me and it is still one of my favorites. Over the years, he has come up with numerous new items. Cameron, Liam Montier and John Bannon amaze me at their prodigious outputs. It is no surprise that the all play for the Big Blind Media team.

In the package you receive the four cards needed for the effect and a link to a 16 minute instruction video. There are no difficult moves and if you have decent card skills (nice Elmsley, etc.), this will be a walk in the park for you. If you are new to the game, Cameron teaches each count needed. For one portion, he offers three different handlings for the count needed and walks you through each. Flushtration, Rumba Count and Boris Wild’s marvelous Kiss Count. When I first started attending magic conventions, one of the first performers I met was Boris. He taught me the Kiss Count and I am a huge fan.

One big plus for me is the cards are on Bicycle Rider Back stock. As Bicycle has announced that they will no longer make trick cards on Rider Backs, this was a welcome surprise. (Maybe Cameron knows someone on the inside).

For fans of packet tricks, this will be a real treat. My set is already living in my pocket. Highly recommended.
