Ultimate Self Working Cards Tricks Vol. 3 30.00 http://www.murphysmagic.com/product.aspx?id=53550
Big Blind Media has been very successful the last few years in moving to the top of the food chain in the magic DVD industry. Their product always has an edgy, up to date feel and the magic is always strong. Liam Montier is not your typical glamorous looking magician. Instead, he looks like the guy you would hang out and have a beer with. This works well as it makes you very comfortable with him as a teacher. I have seen several of his self working DVD’s and have been impressed with each. This newest in no exception.
I have seen many one trick DVD’s for the same price while here you get 10 powerful, easy to do routines. Most of them fooled me while I watched. The ones that didn’t were ones with which I was already familiar. Some of these will go into my repertoire immediate and I will be watching this DVD again.
What you get: An extremely well-produced DVD featuring 10 routines by some of the giants of card magic plus a few newer guys. In just an hour you can add routines by Simon Aronson, Daryl, David Solomon, Nick Trost, John Scarne, Larry Jennings and Alex Elmsley. Plus, you can get acquainted with Geoff Williams, Caleb Wiles and Sal Piacente.
It is hard to pick out favorites as they are all great but I was excite dot see Geoff Williams’ Devastated included. I have do this for years and it is one of my favorites. I attended a lecture in Boston a few years ago and did this for the guys on break. Totally fried them and it is so easy to d. Sal Piacente offers a great routine using the Gilbreath Principle (although Gilbreath is not credited). Daryl does a great rising card which I have seen him do several times in lectures. The Elmsley is simply stunning and the opening handling included here eliminates any set up.
Do yourself a favor and pick this one up. Self working is not a dirty word! It allows you to concentrate on presentation while still performing great magic. And stay tuned at the end. Big Blind offers a link for a free DVD download offering nine routines and an episode of BBMTV featuring a routine from Cameron Francis.
Positives: You get 10 powerful tricks requiring no moves that you can do immediately. The DVD is well produced and is fun to watch. All in all, a real bargain
Negatives: If you order today, you are going to have to wait a few days to watch it. I absolutely love this one.
