The Perception Shuffle - A self working false shuffle. Yes, you read that right!

Spectator Star - Make your spectator the star as they shuffle, cut and turn over the aces. Boom!

Somewhere over the rainbow - John's rainbow deck is a thing of beauty. No sleights, just pure subtlety.

Don't Make Me Cross - Carey's ungaffed Brainwave effect where the card they think of is the only odd back card - so cheeky and yet SO strong!

Entrapment - A really cool, self working slow motion sandwich effect that you will love using.

One thought One Spell - A very subtle spelling effect you will want to add straight to your repertoire.

My Take:

In my opinion, Big Blind Media has managed to position themselves right at the top of the list for magic DVD's. They have assembled a great stable of performers. Liam Montier, John Bannon, Cameron Francis and, now, John Carey. John doesn't seem to be as well known in the states as the others but DVD's like this could rapidly change that. Big Blind has made my job easier as they have described all the effects in their promo.

1 in 52 -John's use of Equivoque make it entertaining to watch and his handling has definitely speeded up the process. The Invisible Deck plot adds to the routine.

The Trick That Can Be Explained - John has simplified the process and puts it into the realm of very to easy to do. Not as strong as the Dai Vernon effect but much more practical. If you make multiple prediction cards, you can redo it it with different outcomes.

Technicolor Reset - I have always been a fan of packet tricks. You can carry them in your pocket and be ready to go at any time. This one was inspired by Nick Trost and Daryl (and you can never go wrong there.) The plot is clear and everything looks above board.  You will be playing with this one tonight and, as a bonus, you finally have something to do with all those Jokers you have been saving just in case.

5Oh?! - Very simple piece of card magic that uses methods you all know. It features an ending of several quick phases. The downside is you do need a special deck for this one. John gives his thoughts on the Hindu Shuffle force and how to make it more effective.

Spectator Star - A very nice spectator cuts the aces routine. A very subtle procedure makes this one very deceptive. Plus, it's easy to do.

Somewhere Over The Rainbow - I will have to be honest. I was not impressed with the way this trick started out, then John got me with the surprise ending making this probably my favorite on the disk. Easy to do and a killer climax.

Don't Make Me Cross - The selected card is turned over to not only show that it has a different back but it also has a black X on the back. Subtle handling. I wouldn't say that this will work 100% of the time but careful handling and audience management puts the odds in your favor.

Entrapment - Neat use of the Australian Deal plus he shows a very subtle way of peeking the selection. Simple but easy and effective self working trick.

One Thought One Spell - Impressive spelling effect. Mechanics are simple but you will have to be able to do some thinking on the fly.

Conclusion - Fans of Nick Trost will like John's approach to card magic. It relies more on subtleties than fancy moves. You will not be fooling magicians with some of these but they will play well with the lay crowd.
