My Take: In 2013, my wife and I attended Magic Live and it was fantastic. In the dealer room, John Bannon was autographing his new book. At the time, I had heard of him but really knew very little about him and sad to say, I did not pick up his book or autograph. Shame on me. Then Murphy's sent me a copy of Sizzle to review and I saw just what I had been missing. This is still one of my favorite all time packet tricks. Since then, I have added seven of his dvd's and his book, Destination Zero, to my library and John has become probably my favorite magician. So, when I heard that he was going to be writing a bi-monthly column for Genie, I couldn't wait. My only complaint was that it was not monthly. John has started a new series of great self working tricks he calls Bandwidth. I had previously reviewed the first two, "No, no, no, no, no, no, no, maybe, Yes," (Silly name yes but it turns out that the name is part of the effect) and Zoombaya, where you don't even have to see the cards. Brilliant stuff. And now, he has released the Untouchables. The trailer fooled me completely. Then I watched the instructional video and realized that I (and I am sure all of you) already know this trick and have done it countless times. But not so fast. John has taken a simple trick and has added things to it that are simple to do and most deceptive. The method has become totally hidden. John has a knack for taking something simple, adding his touch and turning out a killer trick. After seeing this, it made me want to look through some of my classic books to see if I could add a deceptive touch to another classic and create something this good. Fat chance. John Bannon is a god. AT $9.99, you cannot afford not to own this download. Buy it and and you will not be able to wait to try it on your magic buddies just to watch them squirm. There is a pile of kudos for the effect from such great artists as Boris Wild, Mark Elsdon, Cameron Francis, John Carey and others.
